Walk through the door and you’ll be greeted by the living area – a lounge with a sofa and TV, a dining table and a small but practical open-plan kitchen. Don’t be fooled by its size: it’s equipped with everything you need.

The apartment boasts a lovely bedroom with a double bed and access to a recently refurbished bathroom, complete with a spacious shower.

The bedroom also has a small balcony from which you can lean over and take in the narrow little streets of your new neighbourhood and enjoy a morning coffee or a local vermouth as night falls.

Once you’ve settled in, all you have to do is decide whether to head downtown or go to the beach.

If the beach is the plan, then picture yourself swimming, doing a paddleboard or SUP yoga course, running on the shores of the Mediterranean, or just sampling the varied cuisine of a neighbourhood known for its rice and fish dishes and its lively bars.

If you’d prefer to explore Barcelona, then it’s a short, ten-minute walk to the city centre and its most iconic districts, buildings and monuments, among them the Gothic Quarter, Raval, Plaza Catalunya, and Paseo de Gracia.

The apartment is well connected to the airport and well served by local transport. The Hospital del Mar is just 500 metres away, and La Barceloneta Market is also close by. A typical neighbourhood market, it opened in 1884. Shop here and you’ll be one of the locals. It’s well worth a visit.
