The house is available to rent for stays of more than 32 nights. So if you’ve ever dreamed of living on an island for a few months or remote working from one, then this is the ideal place for you.
Casa Hebe & Eze can be found in Es Mercadal, a beautiful, white-walled village situated in the heart of Menorca and at the foot of the magical Monte Toro (358m), the highest point on the island.
Es Mercadal retains all the charm of the island's traditional architecture. A peaceful place, it is Menorca in a nutshell. Its inhabitants live a simple life, a world away from the hustle and bustle of Ciutadella and Mahon, which are only 25 minutes away, as is the airport. Menorca is ready to welcome you with open arms. And so is our home. So, when are you coming??
Casa Hebe & Eze occupies the first floor of a two-floor house. Walk through the gates of the house and you’re just a short staircase from our very own little paradise. Refurbished in 2018, it’s ideal for couples, families of four or five people, and for anyone who wants to spend 32 dreamy nights or more on Menorca, holidaying or remote working.
The first thing you see when you walk into the house is a welcoming little lounge with stone walls, a comfortable sofa bed and a TV, and a modern open-plan kitchen. The jewel in the crown is the outdoor patio, where you can eat what cook on the barbecue and have a shower beneath the stars.
The house has three bedrooms: a double room with a large window, a stunning bare stone wall and a huge double bed; and two single rooms which back onto a lightwell.
The house also features a bathroom with shower and a cloakroom next to the lounge. With air conditioning and heating in every room, you can choose the temperature you want.
There’s also a free outdoor car park with parking for 90 cars just 50 metres away, not to mention a health centre opposite the house. And if you’re bringing bicycles, we’ll tell you where you can keep them.
DISCOVER MENORCA
If you’re visiting Menorca for the first time, you’ll find an island that’s unique, different and surprising too.
The island’s north coast is rugged and dotted with wild beaches. The south coast is lined with sandy coves sheltered by promontories and cliffs. The east coast is dominated by the island’s majestic capital, Mahon, and its amazing port, the world’s second deepest. As for the west coast, it is overlooked by the picturesque and lively town of Ciutadella. And sitting in the heart of the island is Es Mercadal.
If you like walking, you can venture around the island on the Camí des Cavalls, a 185km trail made up of 20 sections. Adventurous types can run the Camí des Cavalls Menorca trail, one of the longest in Europe. Cyclists will enjoy exploring Menorca’s idyllic meadows and low hills. And if you just want to rest and relax, there are plenty of beaches to choose from. You can also explore the island by sea, on a sailing boat or in a kayak.
Whatever you do, though, don’t go away without visiting some of Menorca’s seven lighthouses. Hebe's favourite is Cavalleria, the perfect spot from which to watch the sun go down. Eze’s favourite lighthouses is the remote Favàritx, which is perfect for exploring by bike. What’s your favourite?
10 THINGS TO DO IN ES MERCADAL
Lose yourself in its charming streets and squares and take in the old flour mill, the canal and El Aljub, an amazing water cistern built during British rule to store rainwater.
Mix with the locals and have breakfast or spend the afternoon on a terrace munching a Menorcan sausage and cheese sandwich.
Join the cult of Sant Martí by visiting the Renaissance church of the same name or by taking part in the Fiestas de Sant Martí in the third week of July, a celebration in which the Menorquín horse takes centre stage.
Check out local arts and crafts at the Centro Artesanal de Menorca (admission free).
Get yourself some bespoke Balearic sandals, handmade at Abarques Mibo.
Sample delicious homemade pastries, including ensaimadas (spiral pastries) with all sorts of fillings, amargos (almond macaroons), torró cremat (nougat), and pastissets (powdered sugar cookies).
Scale Monte Toro, the highest point on the island, to visit the sanctuary of the Virgen de Monte Toro (the island’s patron saint) and enjoy the panoramic views.
Hire a bike and explore the outskirts of Es Mercadal in search of the Roca de S’indi (which has the profile of an Indigenous American), the island’s idyllic, white-walled estates, green meadows, and the lighthouse at Cavalleria.
Taste typical Menorcan dishes at the town’s restaurants: oliaigo amb figues (vegetable soup with figs), aubergines, courgettes, and stuffed squid.
Take a piece of the island away with you: olive oil, cold meat, wine, gin… you’ll find it all in the local shops or at the Thursday market (19:00-22:30, from early June to the end of September). Don’t forget to order your ensaimadas! Our favourites are the ones at Can Pons!

Hidden gems: Cala des Bot, Cala Rafalet, Cala En Vidrier, Cala Fustam, Cala Morell.
For little ones: Platja des Grau, Cala en Porter, Platja de Binibéquer, Platja de Punta Prima, Platja de Santo Tomás.
OUR RECOMMENDATIONS
Have a sandwich for breakfast at the Imperial, in Ciutadella.
Jump into a kayak and explore the coastal lagoon of Es Grau.
Walk the Camí des Cavalls: from En Turqueta to Cala Macarella in spring or autumn or to Cala Pregonda in summer.
Stroll through Sant Lluís and visit its windmill.
Enjoy the Fiestas de Sant Joan in Ciutadella in June.
Sample a lobster stew in Fornells.
Visit the prehistoric sites at Torre d’en Galmés.
Buy some handmade Menorcan sandals.
Take a stroll around Mahón, eat in the Mercat de Peix, and round the day off with a pomada (gin and lemonade made with Gin Xoriguer).
Visit Ciutadella, eat in the port, and have a drink in one of its bars. Then decide if you prefer Mahón or Ciutadella.
Watch the sun go down from the Gulf of Cavalleria (it’s not as busy as Cova d’en Xoroi).
