Villas Marrakech, Gueliz
This neighbourhood, outside of the city walls, was created under the French Protectorate. Etymologically it seems that the name comes from the French word EGLISE (the only Catholic church in the whole of Marrakesh can be found here). The neighbourhood is well laid out, with the impressive Mohamed V Avenue starting at Koutubia and crossing in a diagonal direction across the whole of the new part of the city. Bars, restaurants, cafés, fashionable local and international boutique stores and franchises, discotheques with Moroccan music, and emblematic venues can all be found here. The neighbourhood is truly alive and you will be able to find everything you might be looking for right here.
